Data Cleansing/Data Hygiene
Whether you need to clean an old data list as a one off project or whether you need a regular process to keep your marketing database in top condition, we can provide you with the Right services for the job. Whatever your needs, we can use our standard processes, or create a bespoke service to meet your requirements.
Your database should be seen as your lifeline and is therefore crucial that you keep this up-to-date as often as possible. Statistics indicate that business data decays at a rate of 35% per year - do nothing and over 1/3rd of your database will be out of date within 12 months.
We believe that recipients of mail do like to see their correct details and address in a well presented format, it gives a good impression of the mailer and upholds industry best practice. We believe in helping you get your data into the best shape possible and then help you uphold and maintain those standards. We help ensure compliance with data protection legislation surrounding MPS/CTPS/TPS/FPS suppressions.
- B2C Data:
Goneaway suppressions, otherwise known as GASChange of Address. This is something that we may not be able to identify on all records flagged on the goneaways although we can certainly flag those that do appear on our reports.
Bereavement Registers. Morally, this particular register is a must, especially if your client base targets young family households or the elderly.
Preference services. We are able to run your database against all preference services available to consumers in the UK as part of a government legislation which includes the MPS, EMPS, TPS. Mobile numbers are also picked up on the TPS as well as landline numbers.
- B2B Data:
Address standardisationContact details
Proper case all records, move data into the correct fields, standardise all abbreviations i.e. rd to road, st to street etc as well as postcodes. We can also update all addresses using official addressing files (such as PAF in the UK, or Country equivalent) to ensure that your direct mail reaches the customer/prospect.
Append a salutation where possible, standardise formatting to relevant case, and optionally use data enhancements to check validity of email addresses and calculate where blank, link job titles to job functions to allow segmentation, etc.
Run your data against all the relevant registers including the TPS, CTPS and FPS.
The Right List can offer a range of services to vastly improve the quality of your database. As specialists in the industry we can provide you with a comprehensive analysis of your B2B database, highlighting inaccuracies, business gone-aways and also where key business demographics can be appended to your data.
What is TPS, CTPS and FPS?
In the case of TPS the term individual includes consumers at their residential address, sole traders and, except in Scotland, partnerships. It is a legal requirement not to market to TPS registered individuals via telephone.
The corporate alternative (CTPS) makes it is a legal requirement that companies do not make unsolicited sales and marketing calls to numbers registered on their services.
Likewise FPS registered businesses have opted out of receiving direct marketing faxes. Again It is a legal requirement not to send marketing facsimiles to registered numbers. Companies who do target unsolicited sales & marketing activities towards preference service registered companies risk warnings and severe financial penalties.
